That little Honda E challenge is easy to overlook, mostly because it doesn't feel like a big upgrade job at first. You buy a small city EV, spend a bit of cash, and move on. Still, the Motor and Battery Swap is worth doing early, especially if you're trying to push Discover Japan progress without wasting time. If your garage is still light on money, having enough Forza Horizon 6 Credits ready makes the whole thing take just a couple of minutes instead of turning into another grind.
What the Swap Actually Does
A Motor and Battery Swap isn't the same as fitting better tyres or tweaking the gearbox. You're changing the heart of the car. On an electric vehicle, that means replacing the stock power setup with a different motor and battery package. The car can feel sharper off the line, pull harder, and behave a bit differently when you throw it into corners. It's not always about building the fastest thing on the map, either. Sometimes it's just about learning what these conversion menus can do before you start spending big on serious builds.
Getting the Right Car
For this objective, you'll need the 2022 Honda E. Don't overthink it. Head to the Autoshow, buy the car if you don't already own it, then jump back into your garage. The reason this car is used is pretty clear once you see the price. It's accessible, it's electric, and it gives players a simple way to try the system without needing some rare reward car. If you've been playing for even a short while, you'll probably have enough cash for both the Honda and the upgrade.
How to Complete the Upgrade
Once the Honda E is in your garage, open Upgrades & Tuning and choose Custom Upgrade. From there, go into Body Kits and Conversions, then look for Motor and Battery Swap. Pick the 235BHP Motor option and buy it for 20,000 CR. After that, install the part and confirm the setup before leaving the garage. That's it. No tuning sheet, no test laps, no messing with sliders unless you want to. The game should track the completion as soon as the swap is properly fitted.
Why It Matters for Progress
The reward isn't just the upgraded car. You should also see Discover Japan progress pop up on the side of the screen. In many cases, you'll gain credit for owning the Honda E and for completing the swap itself. Those points help with collection milestones and move you closer to the Car Upgrades title. It's the kind of task completionists tend to knock out early, because it's cheap, quick, and doesn't depend on winning a difficult race or waiting for a seasonal event.
Final Thoughts
The Motor and Battery Swap is one of the cleaner upgrade tasks in Forza Horizon 6. Buy the Honda E, fit the 235BHP motor package, and you're done before the menu music gets annoying. It's also a useful first step into EV conversions, which can get a lot more interesting once you start building cars for different event types. Keep a small reserve of FH6 Credits for jobs like this, because the easy upgrades often add up to useful progress faster than you'd expect.
